Abstract

113,317. Indo - European Telegraph Co., and Morse, A. H. Feb. 15, 1917. Morse and like sounders.- The armature of an electromagnetic receiver is provided with a contact, and the receiver associated with a twoway switch in such a manner that it can operate either as a sounder or as a buzzer. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1, 4 and 5, a spring- controlled lever 5 carries the armature 4 of a magnet 3 and a contact 17 adapted to engage an adjustable contact. 18. On the under side of the base 2 is a two-way switch 20, 21, 22 which, in the position shown, causes the apparatus to operate as a sounder, and in the position indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 5, to operate as a buzzer. The magnet 3 is shunted by a resistance 25.
