Abstract

1,132,864. Anodes for primary cells. OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORP. 9 March, 1966 [30 March, 1965], No. 10339/66. Heading H1B. [Also in Division C7] An anode for a primary cell is made of an aluminium alloy containing tin and boron (see Division C7), the tin being in solid solution in the aluminium to the maximum degree. The cathode may be silver chloride, oxide, chromate, sulphate, phosphate, acetate or carbamate. Silver bromide or iodide may also be used. The electrolyte may be sea water or solutions of other alkali metal or alkaline earth metal chlorides. Fused sodium chloride or potassium chloride or eutectics thereof may also be used.
