Abstract
1,132,692. Automatic temperature control systems. F.L.F. STEGHART. Jan.28, 1966 [Oct.30, 1964; Feb.18, 1965], Nos.44421/64 and 7121/65. Heading G3R. An automatic temperature control system having a delayed proportional feedback comprises a temperature sensitive resistor 30 in a D.C. bridge circuit controlling through valves 31, 32 the voltage across a capacitor 33. When a diode 34 breaks down a thyristor 35 is fired energizing a thermal expansion motor 37 to control the heating fluid. The feedback circuit includes a current transformer 39 which charges a capacitor 42 the voltage across which opposes the bridge output hence the thyristor is cyclically switched off. The load 37 may be in series with the thyristor. A resistor 41 and capacitor 43 may introduce a time delay. In another arrangement Fig. 6 (not shown) positional feedback may be provided by a potentiometer linked to the motor 37. In a further arrangement the motor 37 is switched by relay contacts and other contacts simultaneously supply the feedback. A number of other arrangements are described in the Specification employing feedback proportional to position or other parameters.
