Abstract

1,132,435. Agricultural pick-up trailer. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 26 Jan., 1966 [1 Feb., 1965], No. 3593/66. Heading B8E. An agricultural trailer comprises a tined pickup drum 18, a feeder having tines 32, a conveyer floor 6, 7 and an auger 40 to feed crop transversely of the trailer when it is being discharged. The feeder tines are mounted on a tube extending between bearings 29 attached to the trailer frame 8 and can be rotated in either direction from a drive-shaft 42 connectable to a tractor power take-off. The tines extend through slots in a tube 21 rotatably mounted on rollers secured to end-plates 19 attached to the trailer frame 8. To load, the trailer is drawn in the direction A while the feeder is rotated in the direction B so that crop is picked up by the drum 18 and fed by the tines 32 into the charging space. The floor 6, 7 may be operated to feed the material rearwards. To unload, the floor 6, 7 and tines 32 are reversely driven and the drum 18 is raised to the dotted position so that crop is fed to the auger 40 which conveys it transversely of the trailer to discharge it at its side. The trailer body comprises wall 3 to which brackets 51 are pivoted at 52 and which pivotally support longitudinal beams 53. Curved beams 56 extend at the front to a bracket 54 secured to the front bracket 51 and spring-urged to tend to raise the brackets 51 and beams 53. Arms depending from the bracket 54 have holes by which the bracket can be held at any desired inclination. A rear wall 61 is pivoted as shown and is held in position by latches.
