Abstract

113,188. Stephens, C. E. April 20, 1917- Clips, band.-A flexible pipe is secured to an earthenware or other rigid pipe by a wire or band attached to blocks a, b which are forced apart by the screw k. The block a is tapped to engage the screw, and the block b has a plain hole which receives the reduced outer end of the screw. The wires are passed through holes in the blocks and their free ends may be twisted together or be secured by nuts g, h. When a band m is used, as shown in Fig. 13, the blocks are formed with studs which are engaged in key-hole slots in the ends of the band. Two or more slots may be made at one end of the band to allow adjustment.
