A press comprises a rigid frame 10 which has a vertical face 35, means on the frame for supporting a first tool 25 for vertical reciprocation parallel to the face 35 and spaced therefrom, an elongated horn-like member 13 having means at one end for fixedly securing a second tool 30 and means 37, 38, 39 extending in the direction of the horn-like member and detachably secured to the vertical face and to the opposite end of the member 13 to support the member 13 as a cantilever and to hold the second tool 30 in a position to co-operate with the tool 25. The tool 25 is a punch which is reciprocated by a cam track 22 and a follower 21, the cam being moved by a hand lever 24. The tool 30 is a die which is retained in the horn 13 by a set screw 32. Two fixed strippers 26 are bolted to the punch guide. The horn 13 is a close fit in three blocks 37, 38, 39 which are welded together. The block 37 is split and forms a clamp which is tightened by the bolt 42. The block 38 is a spacer and the block 39 is bolted to the face 35. A key 45, Fig. 2 (not shown), fitted in the face 35 loosely enters a slot in the mating face of the block 39 and positions it vertically while three bolts 40 are inserted. The block is positioned laterally by screws 47, one on each side, which are threaded into lugs 46 secured to the sides of the block 39. The assembly of the horn 13 and the blocks 37-39 can be removed and replaced without losing the alignment between the tools. A gauging stop 52 is mounted on a bar 51 which is slidable in a bracket 48 bolted to the edge of the block 39.
