A foodstuff comprises a) from 1-500 g. per ton of an anabolic substance, b) thyroxin and/ or at least one functional derivative of thyroxin and/or iodocasein, component b) being biologically equivalent to from 10-1000 mg. per ton of L-thyroxin, and c) at nutritional component. The anabolic substance may be vitamin A, E or T (G÷tsch), orotic acid, streptogenine, an anabolic sex hormone, a polyhydric alcohol, a surface active substance or a heavy metal compound or a mixture thereof.
