A wedge heel consists of two mouldings of plastics material, e.g. polystyrene, of opposite hand, each half-wedge moulding comprising a base 1, a side and curved rear wall 2, an upper surface 3 and transverse webs 4, the edges of the parts 1, 2, 3, 4 lying flush in a common plane. The two half-wedge mouldings of opposite hand are adhered together by adhesive applied to the edges in the common plane to form a hollow box wedge heel of conventional shape.
