Abstract

1,128,701. Apparatus for repairing rotary furnaces. DIDIER-WERKE A.G. 15 Dec., 1965 [15 Dec., 1964; 13 Nov., 1965], No. 53273/65. Heading F4B. Equipment for removing or rebuilding the lining of rotary furnaces comprises a series of preferably telescopic supports 2, 2a arranged in cruciform fashion along the furnace on a carrier tube 8, carriers 4 fixed to blocks 5 on the supports 2, rail holders 6 suspended from said carriers and supporting a rail 3 through links 7, and skips 11 running on said rail. Where the skips 11 are filled with loosened lining blocks by rotation of the furnace, longitudinal stop rails 10 are provided to contact the skips. Running rails may be attached directly to the supports 2, 2a, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown), and wagons mounted on these rails may carry adjustable radially extending supports for segments carrying the lining blocks during assembly, Figs. 11-13 (not shown). In a further modification, Fig. 14 (not shown), these segments are interconnected by tensioners, producing a rigid quadrant which may be raised or lowered by the telescopic supports.
