Abstract

In a carrier telegraph system comprising a bi-stable circuit K, Fig. 2, which controls a switching circuit US in the tuned circuit of a modulator V, the single or double current signals E which are fed to the bi-stable circuit are also passed via a rectifier Gr to a threshold circuit UW, which, when the level of the current from the rectifier falls below a preset value, sets the bi-stable circuit to a chosen state, e.g. Space. The threshold circuit includes a temperature - compensating diode G2 and is fed by floating D.C. derived by a converter GW from the D.C. supply to the modulator V. In the case of double current signals, the rectifier is followed by a capacitor circuit C1, R1 which prevents the threshold circuit from responding to the transitions in signals having slow transitions. To correct marking or spacing bias in single current input signals, a capacitor C2 or inductor follows the rectifier.
