Abstract
1,128,403. Electric clocks. ENGEL & GIBBS Ltd. March 28, 1967 [April 1, 1966], No.14579/66. Heading G3T. In a circuit for halving the repetition rate of electrical pulses, each pulse is arranged to energize a first relay P/1 momentarily, a contact P1 of which energizes a second relay A/2 which is held energized by a contact A1 and a further relay B/2 is energized after a time delay determined by resistor R2 and capacitor C, setting contacts B1 to their upper position. The next input pulse momentarily energizes relay P/1, so that contacts P1 release relay A/2 by short circuiting its coil. The release of relay A/2 allows relay 0/1 to be energized via contacts B2 and A2, relays B/2 and 0/1 being released when capacitor C is discharged. The momentary energization of relay 0/1 closes contacts 01 which thus provide a short pulse at terminal 7, 8 for each energization of relay P/1 The invention is applicable to halving the frequency of pulses occurring one every 30 seconds at terminals 1, 2 from a master clock. A push button P may be provided to simulate output pulses for the purpose of slave clock correction. Relays P/1, A/2 and B/2 are preferably of the reed type.
