Abstract

112,717. Nicholls, E. G. May 17, 1917. Fusible cut-outs.-In a cartridge fuse of the kind provided with a disk indicator connected to a separate indicator wire, this wire is arranged in a separate and preferably central tube to admit of ready replacement of the wire if fractured. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the indicator wire f to which is attached the spring-pressed indicator-disk d, is enclosed in a tube g held in place in the cavity of the fuse by disks h of non- inflammable material which also retain the packing i through which pass the main fuse-wires f<1>. The wire f is inserted through an opening in one end cap b and is passed through an opening in the other end cap c' and soldered in place. In. a modification, Fig. 5, the tube g is formed by an interior part integral with the body a, and the wires f<1> are passed through channels a<4> in the bdy.
