Abstract

1,127,102. Vulcanizing rubber mixtures. METZELER A.G. 24 June, 1966 [28 Oct., 1965 (6)], No. 28408/66. Headings C3E, C3P and C3Q. A mixture of a higher unsaturation rubber and a lower unsaturation rubber is vulcanized in the presence of sulphur, dibenzthiazyl disulphide, tetramethyl thiuram disulphide, mercaptobenzthiazole, p,p<SP>1</SP>-dibenzoylquinone dioxime, and optionally diphenyl guanidine. Suitable higher unsaturation rubbers are natural rubber and SBR. Suitable lower unsaturation rubbers are butyl rubber and EPT rubber. The composition may suitably also include phthalic anhydride together with conventional compounding ingredients.
