[Also in Division D1] A steaming and ironing dummy comprises a base 1 and an inflatable dummy 2 of air and steam permeable material carried thereon. The base 1 has devices, not shown, for supplying steam and/or hot air into the dummy. An encircling device 3 of a circumference smaller than that of the smallest garment to be treated is provided and is adjustable in height up to the lower edge of the garment. As shown, the device 3 is composed of telescopic rings but may comprise a sleeve of non-expandable plastic foil or an extension of the fabric envelope of the dummy 2 folded back on itself and retained by an elastic cord. Alternatively, a single ring of metal may be adjustable in height by telescopic rods or may be slidable on fixed rods.
