Abstract

1,125,295. Change-speed gear. S. ISSHI. 12 Jan., 1966, No. 1513/66. Heading F2D. [Also in Division A6] A flywheel driven toy patrol oar has a twospeed transmission comprising low and high gears 11, 12 on an axially slidable intermediate shaft 5 continuously driven by gears 9, 10 from the flywheel shaft 8 and adapted to engage gears 3, 4 on the output road-wheel shaft 1. The shaft 5 is biased into a high or low gear position by a T-shaped selector 1 on a shaft 16 acted on by an over-centre spring 24, the selector 17 engaging between a disc 18 and gear 10 on shaft 5 and being operated by a lever (19-20), Fig. 1 (not shown), forming a mock car antenna. The spring 24 ac<SP>+</SP>s on one arm of an L-shaped lever 23 fast on shaft 16 and whose other arm lifts a vibrating arm 13 of a hooter 15 out of engagement with a gear 14 on the flywheel shaft 8 in low gear. The hooter thus sounds continuously in high gear.
