In a vehicle, transmission means between a power source 10 and a wheel 13 comprises a drive belt 14 passing around driving and jockey pulleys 11, 12, the outer surface of the belt 14 engaging part of the periphery of a tyre 16 on the wheel 13. The outer surface of the belt 14 may have a wear resistant facing and may be formed with an outwardly curved profile. The belt and tyre may be provided with circumferential projections or teeth. The jockey pulley 12 may be moved to the position shown dotted to effect disengagement of the drive.
