Abstract
1,123,989. Angular displacement transducers. BOLKOW G.m.b.H. June 18, 1966 [June 2, 1967], No.25507/67. Heading G1N. [Also in Division H1] A transducer for measuring angular displacement and velocity comprises two solenoid coil windings 3a, 3b (Fig. 1) located coaxially side by side, and a disc 2 assembled centrally inside the coils, one half 2a of magnetic material and the other half 2b of non-magnetic material. The coils are connected in series opposition to an A, C. supply 7 (Fig. 3) whereby, when the disc 2 is rotated by a central shaft 5, the voltage drop across each coil varies sinusoidally with 180 degrees phase difference. These voltages are separately rectified and the difference D.C. voltage represents the instantaneous angular displacement of the disc and shaft from a zero position, in magnitude and direction. The transducer is housed in a magnetic port 1, supplying magnetic shielding.
