Abstract
1,122,503. Protecting sports pitches. M. M. GALLARDO. 28 March. 1966 [2 April, 1965], No. 13593/66. Heading A6D. A folding device for covering sports pitches comprises a series of telescopic uprights 1 between which a number of T-section members 2 supporting an awning are mounted, each T-section member being retained by a cable 3 which has distributed over its length a series of clamps 4. Each clamp has a lug to which a first fork 5 is coupled, and a wire 6 is coupled at its top to the first fork and at its bottom to a second fork 7 which is pivotally connected to the T-section member, to permit the required inclination of the connections. The T-section members may be equipped with freely rotating rollers 10, the awning being folded on the members by a mechanical traction device which is also used to unfold the awning.
