Abstract

1,122,401. Textile treating apparatus. SAMUEL PEGG & SON Ltd. 17 Jan., 1966 [29 Jan., 1965], No. 4146/65. Heading D1L. [Also in Division F2] In a dyeing system in which hot dye liquor is circulated in a kier 1 by an impeller pump 5, cooler make-up dye liquor is fed from a reservoir 9 to the kier through the pump 5 where it is used to cool the impeller shaft seal (see Division F2). The kier contains a steam heating coil 6 and is connected to the reservoir 9 by an overflow pipe 7 including a condenser 8 cooled by cold water. The make-up feed is drawn from the reservoir 9 and supplied to the pump 5 by an auxiliary pump 11.
