Abstract

1,121,620. Navigational aid. J. F. SHERWOOD. 17 July, 1967, No. 32790/67. Heading G4B. A device for determining sail positions comprises two relatively rotatable members 1, 2, the member 1 being marked on its upper side with a " wind direction" indication and a plurality of sail positions 6 for corresponding headings relative to the wind direction and the member 2 provided with a window 10 through which the sail positions are viewed. In use, the member 1 is positioned to align the " wind direction " indication with the actual direction of the wind and the member 2 rotated to align an arrow 9 with the desired heading whereby the required sail position is exposed in the window 10.
