Abstract

Novel reactive dyestuffs of the general formula <FORM:1120761/C4-C5/1> in which F denotes the radical of an organic dyestuff, X is a group -NR-, -SO2-, -arylene, C1- 4 alkylene-, or -N = N-, which is linked directly with the radical A and directly or through a bridge member (e.g. CO or one of the other groups which X represents) with F, R being H or an aliphatic or aromatic residue; A is the radical of a 6-membered heterocyclic ring which contains at least one cyclically bound nitrogen atom and at least one reactive sulphonyl substituent linked to a carbon atom of the heterocyclic ring and which may contain fused aromatic carbocyclic or heterocyclic rings; and m is a number from 0.5 to 8; are made by introducing at least one group -X-A in known manner into a dyestuff or dyestuff intermediate, and, in the latter case converting this in known manner into the final dyestuff. The sulphonyl substituents on A may be C1- 5 alkyl-sulphonyl, aryl-sulphonyl, aralkyl-sulphonyl, or hetero-sulphonyl. The preferred radicals A are pyrimidine and s-triazine rings but pyridine, pyridazine, pyrazine, quinoline, phthalazine, cinnoline, quinazoline, quinoxaline, acridine, phenazine or phenanthridine are also mentioned. Particularly valuable classes of reactive dyestuffs are: (1) azo dyestuffs of the formula <FORM:1120761/C4-C5/2> where B and D are the same or different aromatic carbocyclic or heterocyclic radicals, optionally containing further substituents including azo groups, e.g., B can be benzene or naphthalene and D can be 5-pyrazolone, an acetoacetic acid arylamide or hydroxynaphthalene or an aminonapthalene R1 is H or C1- 5 alkyl, Q is a direct bond or -SO2- and m1 is an integer, preferably 1 or 2. The azo dyes may also be in the form of Cu, Cr, or Co complexes (2) amino anthraquinone dyestuffs of the formula <FORM:1120761/C4-C5/3> where L is H or a substituent, preferably -SO3H, p is 1, 2 or 3, R1 is H or a substituent; (3) azoporphin dyestuffs of the formula <FORM:1120761/C4-C5/4> wherein Pe represents the radical of a phthalocyanine, especially Cu or Ni containing, r is 1 or 2, q is 0, 1 or 2, L, Q, R1 and A are as above in (2), m is 0.5-4. The examples also include reactive nitro dyestuffs.
