Abstract
1,118,998. Making electric circuit modules. M.E.L. EQUIPMENT CO. Ltd. 2 May, 1967 [3 May, 1966], No. 19432/66. Heading B3A. [Also in Division H1] An electric circuit module is made by stamping a metal blank and securing electrical components 9, 10 in the stamped out portions. The blank may be cut from a strip of " Monel " (Registered Trade Mark), brass or nickel silver either before or after stamping. Reference marks 2 are made along each side of the blank which are sensed by a component supplying and positioning machine. Notches 5 are provided in the cross-strips 7, 8 to permit easy removal from the end strip 4 and notches (5<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 1 (not shown), to accommodate the components. The assembly is preferably encapsulated in epoxy resin with limb portions 11 acting as terminals. The components may be resistances 9 and a transistor 10 arranged to form a NOR gate. The electrical components secured in the blank may alternatively be secured in a box-like structure or held between two spaced surfaces instead of being moulded in epoxy resin.
