Abstract
1,118,554. Pumping apparatus. G. F. HARE April 22, 1966, No. 17674/66. Heading F1A. Apparatus, e.g. for cleaning poultry houses with hot water containing a detergent or germicide, comprises an electric motor-driven pump 9 and a reservoir 1 mounted on wheels, Fig. 1 (not shown), the pump drawing liquid from the reservoir through a three-way valve 12, which also may be operated to connect a liquid supply pipe 14 to the reservoir or directly to the pump inlet, and delivering the liquid to a lance 17 incorporating a control valve 18, a by-pass circuit with a relief valve 22 coming into operation when control valve 18 is closed. Relief valve 22 comprises a valve member (24), Fig. 3 (not shown), connected to a spring-loaded piston (32) subjected to the delivery line pressure. The pressure in the pump suction line assists the opening of the relief valve. An electric immersion heater is mounted in a chamber in the reservoir. The apparatus includes a filter 21 and pressure gauge 28.
