Abstract
1,118,436. Apparatus for catalytic gaseous reactions. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU "KARL LIEBKNECHT" MAGDEBURG VEB. 27 Sept., 1965, No. 40933/65. Heading B1F. A catalyst grating structure and catalyst discharge device of the outer reactor 7 in a twostage double reactor for catalytic gas phase reaction comprises a two-piece cylindrical grating 1', 1 (Fig. 1) situated near or at the bottom of the outer reactor where the internal diameter of the cylindrical grating is the same as the external diameter of the inner reactor 12 or differs therefrom by not more than twice the wall thickness of the cylindrical grating so that a satisfactory thermal expansion of the inner reactor downwards into the cylindrical grating is facilitated. For discharge of catalyst 11, through pipe 27, lower grating 1 is raised. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown), catalyst discharge is through separate pipe connections (2). A catalyst grating structure and discharge device of the inner reactor comprises a substantially cylindrical catalyst grating 1" which moves during thermal expansion without obstruction over or into a substantially cylindrical or conical counterpiece 3 (Fig. 3), 4 (Fig. 5). Catalyst grating 1" may incorporate conical or dome shaped portion (Figs. 7 and 8 not shown). Discharge of catalysts from the inner reactor is effected by lowering the counterpiece.
