Abstract

Apparatus for use in applying successive layers of synthetic plastics material to a cylinder to form a wiping cylinder for an engraved-plate printing-machine comprises a scraper blade for distributing evenly each layer as it is applied, micrometer means for adjusting the blade towards and away from the cylinder, and a p relatively-fixed abutment which determines the inclination of the blade to the cylinder surface. Specification 1,116,971 describes the use of identical apparatus in a process for forming wiping cylinders.
