In a safety device for a gas burner arrangement including a main burner 4 and pilot burner 5 supplied with gas through a manually controlled cock 2 and an electromagnetically operated valve 3 energized by a flame detecting thermocouple 6, the electrical circuit includes contacts 7 of a relay operated by the cock 2 or by a pressure-sensitive switch responsive to the gas pressure in the supply pipe falling below a predetermined value. This arrangement also fails safe in the event of a power failure.
