Abstract

1,113,799. Loom take-up motions. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 22 Nov., 1965 [30 Nov. 1964], No. 49511/65. Heading D1E. A cloth beam is suspended in at least two continuous flexible power transmission loops. The loops 9 are suspended from a rotating drive member, such as the cloth draw-off roll 2 or the presser roll 3, and drive the beam at a higher peripheral speed than the speed of advance of the cloth. Slippage occurs between the loops and the beam. The loops may be chains engaging sprockets on the beam, and slidably engaging the drive member. Horizontal oscillations of the beam are prevented by fixed hooks 13 loosely engaging the beam. Adjustable idler rollers 25 - may be provided to allow the beam to be adjusted horizontally or vertically. Cloth may be wound on a composite beam comprising several sections each suspended from loops.
