A securing device for rods, cables and the like comprises a saddle 4 and a clip 2 engageable herewith, the saddle and clip being provided with interengaging retaining elements 20, 35 and interengaging positioning means 24, 30 which prevent relative sliding movement of the saddle and clip in either direction when the saddle and clip are interengaged. Packing pieces 8 may be positioned beneath or formed integrally with the saddle 4.
