Abstract

A metal racket frame for stringing is characterised by a coating on said frame of a plastics material which has been formed by the application of powdered plastics material to the heated surface of said frame prior to the application of stringing to the frame. A racket frame is described made from tubular steel which is coated, preferably after etching by heating to about 425 DEG C and plunging into nylon powder through which air is passing. A racket frame made from a solid extrusion is similarly coated.ALSO:A metal racket frame for stringing is characterised by a coating on said frame of a plastics material which has been formed by the application of powdered plastics material to the heated p surface of said frame prior to the application of stringing to the frame. A racket frame is described made from tubular steel having flanged holes for the strings the free edges of the flanges being inside the tube which is coated, preferably after etching, by heating to about 425 DEG C and plunging into nylon powder through which air is passing. A further racket frame is made from a solid extrusion and the holes fitted with eyelets before coating.
