Abstract

1,113,685. Labelling apparatus. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd., and N. HARRISON. 12 Sept., 1966 [10 Sept., 1965], No. 38690/65. Heading B8F. The apparatus removes pressure-adhesive labels 24 from a backing strip 21 and deposits them on to a waiting microscope slide &c. 23 placed on a locator plate 14. The labelled strip 21 passes under a transparent bridge 5, over a sharp edge 4 removing the label 24, and then over a roller 16 on the locator plate 14. The strip 21 is drawn through the apparatus by a rubber roller 6 which is sprung into contact with the strip 21 passing over the roller 16, being rotated by the knob 8. The locator plate 14 slides into grooves 15 of the side walls 2, and is held in place by a pin 19 passing through holes in the walls 2 and a lug 18 on the plate 14. A bar to guide the labels may be provided adjacent the edge 4.
