Abstract

1,113,054. Making tubes. P. U. POULSEN. 20 Sept., 1965 [23 Sept., 1964], No. 38760/64. Heading F2P. Glass fibres, paper or a plastics material treated with an unhardened resin are wound on to a mandrel comprising a plurality of parts 9 arranged for individual, longitudinally reciprocating movement and which are projected sequentially in one direction and sequentially retracted in the opposite direction, the formed tube being heated to effect hardening of the resin. The parts 9 are reciprocated by axially movable bars 6 provided with rollers 7 engaged in a cam track 3 in a cylinder 2 rotated by a motor 5.
