Abstract

1,112,483. Charging skips; shoots and hoppers. SIEMAG-MASCHINENUND STAHLBAU NETPHEN G.m.b.H. 5 Nov., 1965 [23 Nov., 1964], No. 47062/65. Headings B8E and B8S. Apparatus for loading a skip 6 comprises a transfer shoot 4 which is pivoted at 3 and is movable by an electric, pneumatic or hydraulic drive 12 into a dust-tight engagement between the charging aperture of the skip and the discharge aperture of a metering bunker 2, the latter being normally closed by a gate 7 on the shoot 4 and a gate 9 movably mounted on the bunker 2, the gates 7 and 9 being successively opened when the shoot 4 is moved. The shoot 4 has gaskets 5 for engaging the skip wall. The gate 9 is mounted by means of rollers 10 on guides 11 and has abutments 14, 15 against which the gate 7 abuts when the shoot 4 is moved. A conveyer 13 fills the bunker 2. To prevent damage to the shoot 4 by a moving skip if the shoot has inadvertently been left in the loading position the shoot is provided with skids with which the skip engages to move the shoot away. A further wall may be associated with the side walls of the shoot to provide a gap connected to suction means for removal of air displaced from the skip.
