Abstract
1,112,090. Electric selectors; electromagnetic reed relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 30 Nov., 1966, No. 53634/66. Headings H1L and H1N. Electromagnetic relays each with a plurality of sealed reed contact units in the same plane and reed contact terminals extending from opposite ends of the relay are connected in a switching matrix with the column and row multiple connectors at the opposite ends of the relay and the plane of the contact units is at an oblique angle to the conductors of the rows and columns. As shown, the terminals of the contact units pass through the conductors and are secured thereto. In Fig. 1 a wire is looped loosely around a line of terminals and crimped between the terminals before soldering. The replacement of a single unit is possible without disturbing others. In Fig. 2 the terminals pass through slots in a V-section conductor which is bent to engage the sides of the terminals before soldering.
