Abstract
1,111,886. Variable reactance circuits. TELEFUNKENPATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 9 July, 1965 [11 July, 1964], No. 29223/65. Heading H3R. [Also in Division H1] A voltage variable capacitance arrangement comprises n parallel circuits each containing n voltage variable capacitance devices in series, all the devices being supplied in effective parallel from a D.C. source with capacitance controlling voltage; the arrangement thus has the same capacitance as a single device but can operate at n times the potential. The devices are preferably diodes preferably arranged in pairs in each series with the diodes of each pair oppositely connected. In Fig. 2 the pairs of diodes 1 are formed by diffusion techniques on common cathode strips 6, and there are 100 diodes in 10 rows and 10 columns mounted on five strips 6. The anodes are connected by strips 8, and a control voltage is supplied from terminals 3 and 4 via resistors or chokes 5.
