Abstract
Linear polyamides are stabilized against heat and U.V. light by the incorporation of 10 to 800 p.p.m. of manganese as a manganous salt of a C1- 18 aliphatic monocarboxylic acid and 0.005 to 5% by wt. of an ester of an organic hydroxy compound with a phosphorous acid, e.g. an alkyl or aryl phosphite. Specified optional ingredients are plasticizers, resins, waxes, fillers and pigments. Specification 978,595 is disclaimed.
