Abstract

1,110,610. Blow-moulding machine. BAKER PERKINS GRANBULL Ltd. 6 Sept., 1965 [30 Sept., 1964], No. 39826/64. Heading B5A. A blow-moulding machine has an extrusion head, preferably with two extrusion nozzles, two stationary mould-holders for holding, opening and closing two two-part blow-moulds, both below and on opposite sides of the extrusion head, and gripping means, movable along an inclined plane to grip extruded tubing, and move it diagonally downwards to one mould and then to the other. Preferably, the gripping means comprises two separate grippers so that while one tubing is delivered to the mould by one gripper and blown therein, the other gripper is receiving further extruded tube. Each gripper preferably is carried on a mounting, movable along an inclined guide, which preferably comprises two parallel rods passing through openings in the mounting so that the mounting may slide along the rods, e.g. by means of a pneumatic ram. Each gripper may comprise two pairs of pivoted jaws, opened and closed by a pneumatic ram acting through a toggle. Each mould may have two cavities, and each gripper may therefore be such as to carry the two extruded tubings to the mould.
