Nov. 24, 1916 Roofs, slating and tiling.-Diagonal asbestos. cement or other tiles or slates are secured by means of clips C which are placed on the heads of one row of tiles and secured to the rafters &c. by nails passed through the holes c<3> and through the tiles: the next row of tiles are then laid with their sides abutting over' the centres of the clips and are secured by bending over the prongs c', c<2>, The lower end of the clips are bent forwards at right-angled and are passed through slots in the feet of the third row of tiles and clinched on the outer face thereof. When metal purlins &c. are used, the clips are formed with tongues c<4>, c<5> which are passed through the tile and bent around the top and bottom flanges of the purlin.
