Abstract
The invention comprises thiamine disulphide monosulphoxide and O-acylates thereof, of formula <FORM:1109535/C2/1> where R is a hydrogen atom or an acyl group, which are obtained by oxidizing thiamine disulphide and O-acylates thereof with organic peracids, and thiamine glutathione disulphide and O-acylates thereof, of formula <FORM:1109535/C2/2> where R is as above, which are obtained by reacting glutathione with the thiamine disulphide monosulphoxide and O-acylates thereof of Formula II above. In examples O-benzoylthiamine disulphide, O-butyrylthiamine disulphide and thiamine disulphide are oxidized with perbenzoic acid to the corresponding monosulphoxides, which are then reacted with glutathione to obtain O-benzoylthiamine glutathione disulphide and thiamine glutathione disulphide. Other products according to the invention are mentioned.
