Abstract

A moulding powder comprises a melamine/ formaldehyde resin in which up to 90% by wt. of the melamine units are replaced by acetoguanamine. The moulding powder may also include a filler, e.g. a -cellulose and a curing agent, e.g. phthalic anhydride. The resin may be prepared by subjecting an aqueous alkaline soln. of acetoguanamine, melamine and formaldehyde to condensation e.g. at about 90 DEG C. and at pH 8 to 9. Uses.-Stain-resistant mouldings.
