Abstract
Phenol-aldehyde resins for use in injection moulding, which have a short cure time, and a low melt viscosity increasing only slowly at the processing temp., are characterised by 0.5-6% wt., pref. 1-4% wt. phenols, and/or their substitution products being added to the finished phenol-aldehyde moulding resins. Addition of the phenols etc. shortens the cure times of the phenol-aldehyde resins, and reduces the melt viscosity, so that injection moulding is facilitated. In addition, the resins are more fully condensed during injection moulding, and the mouldings have a better surface.
