A self-lubricating bearing comprises a carbon or carbon-graphite member 10, Fig. 2, having a thin layer 12 of P.T.F.E. bonded to each loadreceiving surface thereof. The P.T.F.E. may be filled with glass particles or metal powders; and the layer may be in the form of a tape. The load-receiving surfaces may receive radial or axial loads.
