1,107,762. Agitating liquids. CIGARETTE COMPONENTS Ltd. 29 Dec., 1964 [10 Oct., 1963], No. 40081/63. Heading B1C. A stirrer for liquids comprises a shaft 1 having a hexagonal hub and a plurality of vanes 21 each with a root 22 extending along the hub and a tip 25, a first edge from one end of the root to the tip in a plane normal to the shaft and a second edge 27 from the other end of the root to the tip, the concavity of the first edge being less than that of the second edge 27. There may be a barrier plate 10 and the vanes may be duplicated on each side of the plate in pairs as shown, the first edge of each blade being in contact with the plate. In operation liquid is drawn in axially and expelled radially when the stirrer is rotated with the convex edge of the vanes leading.
