Abstract
1,107,547. Optical projector. R. L. ALDCROFTT. March 17, 1966, No.11723/66. Heading G2J. An apparatus 10 for projecting varying images comprises a lamp 26 passing light through a lens 72 via a fluid medium 42 containing a plurality of transparent or semi-transparent members 44, and means for agitating the medium 42. The medium 42 is agitated by a motor 50 and belt drive 64, or by a motor (96) and frictional bearing (94), Fig. 6 (not shown), or by placing a lamp below the medium 42 to agitate it thermally, wherein this lamp may also be used as the lightsource by reflecting the light from mirror. The members 44 may be of acetate film of varying shapes and colours, and of substantially the same specific gravity as the fluid medium 42. The container 32 of the medium 42 may also have a glass rod 70 disposed therein to aid agitation. The apparatus 10 may be cooled by forced draught or by ventilating the housing.
