Abstract

1,107,171. Treating weft in looms. R. J. WRIGHT. 7 Oct., 1964 [16 Oct., 1963], No. 40846/63. Heading D1E. A loom has an applicator which coats the weft prior to weaving into a carpet. More than one applicator may be used to apply latex &c., moth proofing or anti-rot agent. The weft 62 is passed through an adjustable length tube 120, spring scrapers 70 and under and adjustable air jet 124 which finally removes any excess coating. The tube is supplied with coating material by a pump 122 driven by a motor 127 which also drives a compressor 126 for the air jet 124.
