Abstract
1,106,739. Explosive forming. BETEILIGUNGS - UND PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 13 Oct., 1966 [14 Oct., 1965], No. 45861/66. Heading B3Q. A method of expanding rotor-retaining rings &c. 1 in a number of stages comprises expanding the rings by explosives without using an external die. A ring 1 is clamped between plates 2 by tee-rods 3, filled with water and an explosive fired in the interior of the ring. This procedure is repeated until the ring has attained the desired shape. The tee-rods may be fixed by keys 4 or nuts bearing on springs.
