1,269,294. Making tubes; explosive forming. CENTRE NATIONAL DE RECHERCHES METALLURGIQUES. 4 June, 1970 [5 June, 1969], No. 27054/70. Headings B3A and B3Q. A method of forming or sizing nuclear reactor &c. tubes of polygonal cross-section, e.g. hexagonal, comprises expanding a tube-blank in a die by means of an explosive. In a preliminary operation, a tube of circular crosssection is compressed in a divided die of polygonal internal cross-section and is then explosively expanded, preferably in the same die.
