A ladder has tubular metal rungs and side members, cylindrical parts 3 on the ends of the rungs fitting in holes in the side members and the ends 11 of the rungs fitting tightly between two ribs 10 on each of the side members 1 and the edges of flat treads 8 on the rungs engaging the ribs to prevent rotation of the rungs.
