Abstract

Disproportionation catalysts result when acid treated Al2O3 is impregnated with MoO3, WO3 or Re2O7 or a precursor therefor, or a carbonyl of Mo or W. Additionally the catalyst may contain CoO or a minor amount of an alkali or alkaline earth metal ion. Reference is made to washing g -Al2O3 with HCl or CH3COOH. The catalyst may be used in a fixed or fluidized bed.
