Abstract

1,104,551. Diapers. KIMBERLY-CLARK CORPORATION. 24 May, 1965, No. 21938/65. Heading A3V. A diaper comprising an absorbent pad 12, an outer waterproof layer 16 and preferably an inner layer 14 of low fluid absorbency is precreased, preferably by embossing, along lines 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 to enable it to be folded, Fig. 2 not shown, so that points 28 form peaks, the areas 32, 34 outwardly of points 28 forming the leg portions and the area intermediate the points forming a depending pocket. If the diaper is marketed in folded condition the waterproof outer layer of the leg portions may be heat sealed at (40), Fig. 4 not shown, to maintain the folds in place. In use, the diaper is overlapped at the sides and secured by pressure-sensitive tapes (42), (44), Fig. 2.
