A timepiece of the numeral indicating type, comprises a casing (35) including windows 36, 37, Figs. 2 and 6 (not shown) and a shaft 16 in the casing on which are mounted in a side-by-side relation first, second and third freely rotatable dial discs 1, 2, and 3. The first disc is numbered 0 to 9 to indicate minutes, the second disc is numbered with the numerals 0 to 5 once repeated to indicate tens of minutes, and the third disc is numbered 0 to 11 to indicate hours. Four pawls 10, 11, 12 and 14 are carried on a common shaft 13 which is moved laterally, on the end of lever followers 9, by a cam 23 rotating once per minute. Pawl 10 continuously advances the disc 1 through a ratchet wheel 4. Pawl 11 operates every ten minutes on a ratchet wheel 5 carried by disc 2, through a cut-out 20 in a ring 7 on the disc 1. Disc 2 on the other side has a cam-disc 8 with two diametrically opposite depressions 22, this camdisc being by the follower pawl 14. A ratchet wheel 6 on disc 3 can be engaged by the pawl 12. Pawls 12 and 14 are made fast together through a cross pin 15 which extends loosely over the pawl 11, whereby pawls 12, 14 are lifted by pawl 11 when it rides on the disc 7. This arrangement is such that the discs are advanced in the correct sequence notwithstanding that disc 1 advances 36‹ per step whereas discs 2 and 3. advance 30‹. In an alternative construction Figs. 7-10 (not shown), the pawls are replaced by an equivalent interacting pin arrangement comprising actuating pins 42a, b, and c which are movable axially against springs and pass into holes or slots in the second and third discs (2, 3) to operate them in the correct sequence under the action of a stationary initiating cam (45). A fourth disc representing the days of the week may be provided. The days would be marked in a duplicate sequence Sunday, Sunday, Monday, Monday and so on, and this fourth disc would be advanced one step every twelve hours or one revolution of the third disc 3.
